Kid Quantum reflects on the fate of Element Lad, whom she believes had died trying to save the Legionnaires. She is informed that she will be making contact with Shikari's people, the Kwai, for some assistance on getting back home. The Legion and the Kwai are able to mutually assist each other. Shikari relates some of the Kwai's recent history, informing them that her nomadic people have entered this region because of a "feral star". When the Legion see the star, they realize it's the energy form of Wildfire. The Kwai make preparations to continue traveling when they are attacked by the Progeny. The Legion is able to defeat the Progeny as the Kwai leave, leaving behind Shikari. Meanwhile, some Progeny members find a drifting space craft and find a living being in it that destroys them.
