Firestorm, the Nuclear Man, Orion, and Power Girl watch in horror, as Darkseid is brought back to life, by the Injustice Society. Orion attacks the Injustice Society, to stop them from completing their task. The Shade battles Orion, to keep Orion away from the Fiddler, who must continue playing, to bring Darkseid back to life. The Shade momentarily gains the advantage over Orion, only to have his ebony cane vaporized, by Firestorm, the Nuclear Man. The Icicle freezes Firestorm, the Nuclear Man. Orion, and Power Girl, beat the Icicle into unconsciousness.The Fiddler takes out Firestorm, the Nuclear Man, Orion, and Power Girl. His foes defeated, the Fiddler resumes playing Darkseid back to life.
A child of New Genesis leads Big Barda, Superman, and the Golden Age Wonder Woman to the hidden lair of an army of children. Big Barda makes contact with their leader, Crimson. After establishing that they are their allies, Crimson orders a celebration. Playto, a Multi-Cog, telepathically broadcasts recent events into the heroes' minds. The Fiddler, the Icicle, and the Shade were robbing an armored car. The Fiddler began fighting with the Icicle over who would lead the Injustice Society. An effigy of Darkseid manifested out of the very street they stood upon. Darkseid enlisted the aid of the Injustice Society in expediting his resurrection. Playto succumbs to exhaustion.
Crimson leads Big Barda, Superman, and the Golden Age Wonder Woman on an assault on Granny Goodness. Doctor Fate battles against Darkseid's shock troops. Doctor Fate, and Oberon, check on the Silver Age Green Lantern, who was last seen entering one of Darkseid's prisons. The find the Silver Age Green Lantern desperately trying to free Izaya, the High-Father of the New Gods. The Silver Age Green Lantern collapses in exhaustion and defeat. Doctor Fate frees Izaya from his bondage. The Batman, the Huntress, and Mister Miracle storm Darkseid's Imperial Palace. Mister Miracle discovers Darkseid's latest scheme. Using the re-creation machine like a transmatter machine, Darkseid intends to teleport Apokolips into the same dimensional space that Earth-2 occupies, destroying Earth-2.
