Origin
Very little is known about John Economos' personal history, save that he has been married several times. At some point he became the figurehead warden of Belle Reve, operating under the command of Amanda Waller.
Creation
John Economos was created by John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell. He made his first appearance in Suicide Squad #1.
Major Story Arcs
Suicide Squad
Economos helps in the day-to-day running of Suicide Squad missions, but is primarily present as a smokescreen to distract the press and public from the true power in the prison. Following the group's abduction to Apokolips and Flo Crowly's subsequent death, he becomes disillusioned with the team. When Waller is removed from her position and imprisoned, he leaves the prison. He returns sometime later, and resumes his old position in the prison.
Powers and Abilities
John Economos is a normal human and has no superhuman powers or abilities. He is a competent leader and warden.
