The fault lines that have appeared within the ranks of the JLA now expand into a great crevice. The team are already divided about their decision to persuade Zatanna to make the Secret Society of Super Villains forget their secret identities. Not only that, but when Batman tried to prevent Zatanna altering Dr Light's personality through her magic, she made him forget the whole episode too. Trouble is, and outside force is now helping everyone remember what happened.

After the opening battle with the SSOSV ends in stalemate (during which time it is obvious the villains remember the identities of the League) Batman, disappears with Jonn to the Batcave so that they can tend the injured Catwoman. The League arrive at the Batcave, and Zatanna attempts to apologise to Batman, who tells the League to leave.

Hawkman tries to justify the decision to remove "10 minutes" of Batman's memory in order to ensure the safety of the League's love ones. Batman doesn't buy it an lands a haymaker on Hawkman's chin - the two then have to be kept apart by Green Lantern and the team, heeding Batman's words that their loved ones need protection go their separate ways. As Jonn returns to the watchtower, we discover that the one who is behind returning the memories of the SSOSV is none other than the League's old nemesis....Despero!
