It was named after his mentor, Jaster Mereel. On a mission to get a bounty on the prison colony of Oovo IV Jango Fett flew this ship into the system under another ships shadow and left it on the surface unguarded. He came back later during a prison riot and found Zam Wesell, another bounty hunter, trying to break into the ship. The two argued for some time but a Firespray-31 came and open-fired upon the ship nearly destroying it. Jango needed another ship so he stole the prison's prototype of that ship and destroyed the rest. He later named it Slave 1.
