    Starting in 1964 he created a set of 62 covers for the Doc Savage books series. He used model and actor Steve Holland(star of TV's Flash Gordon 1954-55)to create many of his Doc covers. In 1968 he quit his illustrating career and moved to a Wyoming ranch. There he started his painting career of western contemporary art. He was inducted into the Illustrator's Hall of Fame in June of 2000.
