    Origin

    Hypernova is a member of secret elite strike force the Shi'ar Death Commandos. Of an unknown species Hypernova is one of two females that serve on the team. The Commandos tasked with eliminating the Grey family and their genetic relatives to deprive the Phoenix Force entity hosts and capturing Rachel Grey. They are successful in their former mission killing almost all the members of the Grey family in a lethal ambush at the John Grey and Elaine Grey residence. In the midst of battle, Hypernova is defeated by the X-Men member Psylocke. Later on in a failed attempt to kill Bishop, she finds her powers absorbed by the energy absorbing mutant and used on her own team mates.

    Creation

    Created by Chris Claremont and Chris Bachalo, Hypernova is one of two females of the group. Hypernova first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #467 released in 2006.

    Powers and Abilities

    Hypernova utilizes powerful energy blasts that can literally dissolve opponents. She is also incredibly agile.
