Hedy Wolfe

Origin

Hedy was Patsy Walker (Hellcat)'s best friend and had a long love-hate relationship with her. She lived in Centerville and was a good friend of Patsy. During their teenage years the two even lived together. The only problem was that she could become overly jealous of the attention Patsy had from other boys, most notably her longtime boyfriend Buzz. Hedy had a crush on him herself, and from time to time she tried to break the two of them apart. This while Hedy herself was a beauty queen too. Eventually, Hedy seiced her actions and started being happy for the two. Patsy even married Buzz a few years later and Hedy and Patsy stopped living together.They have remained close friends througout the years.

Creation

Hedy Wolfe was created by Ruth Atkinson and first appeared in Miss America Magazine #2.

Rough Times

Hedy and Patsy remained close friends over the years and Hedy stood by Patsy during the rough times she had being married to Buzz. He had been consumed by his work and hardly had time for Patsy. Besides this, he was violent towards her. Eventually Patsy divorced Buzz and became an Avenger. Hedy was one of the first persons to hear of her secret identity. The two of them lost frequent contact after Patsy married her Defenders teammate "Hellstorm". During this time, Patsy, unbeknown to Hedy, had fallen into a deep depression (due to the actions of a demon). A few months later Patsy committed suicide. Hedy was devistated.

Hellcat Mini-Series

A few years later, Patsy was brought back from the dead and soon returned to her good friend Hedy in order to get in touch with herself again. Hedy and Patsy spoke of times past, how they where the best of friends and how Patsy's mother had written stories about the two of them. It turned out that most of the stories where Hedy had been a jerk towards Patsy where actually the stories that her mother had come up with. The two of them laughed but suddenly Patsy started to cry, having returned from the dead is not something that went by easily. Hedy remained at her side for as long as she needed and even helped out Patsy as Hellcat when she had to fight of a demonic foe whom attacked Hedy and Patsy's hometown of Centerville.

Not long after this encounter, Hedy started working for a model magazine called Models Inc. She remains close friends to Patsy and the two have renewed their friendship.

A.K.A Hellcat

Due to her superheroine carrier, Patsy was often absent from her civilian life for long periods, leading to Hedy feeling abandoned and betrayed. She became one of the sole companions of Patsy's sick, dying abusive mother, Dorothy, leading to the latter to regard Hedy as a the "daughter she never had". On her deathbed, Dorothy signed over the rights to the Patsy Walker franchise to Hedy as a way of thanking her.

After sharing the rights with a select number of mutual childhood friends, Hedy began reprinting and distributing the Patsy Walker comics, claiming she was restoring them due to their nostalgic value (while in reality she was attempting to spite Patsy). However, Patsy still possessed some of the legal rights to her comic namesake, forcing Hedy to sue her for the remaining rights. Additionally, she hires Jessica Jones to obtain additional information about her, not knowing that Jessica is a friend of She-Hulk, Hellcat's lawyer. When Jessica returns to Hedy's house, asking for additional information that might help her investigation (while actually trying to steal documents that might help She-Hulk) she becomes suspicious of her intentions. Acting on her suspicions, she then breaks into Jessica's office and ends up obtaining proof of Patsy's adventures as Hellcat, and then returns to her house in order to catch Hellcat and Jessica breaking in in an attempt to steal and send some of Dorothy Walker's documents to Jennifer. Hedy confronts them, gloating that not only has she caught them committing a crime, but also possesses proof of Patsy's alter-ego. However, She-Hulk quickly replies, stating that Dorothy's medical records show that she was heavily medicated when she was handing over the rights to Hedy and thus wasn't in a proper state of mind to handle such legal matters, nulling the contract. When Hedy attemps to object, Patsy points out that while they can quite easily legally obtain the necessary documents and simply say that they were acting on a tip, Hedy cannot do so. Hedy then asks Patsy if they can work something out, but Patsy tells her she'll be hearing from her lawyer.
