    Dark Atmosphere With Surgical Precision 0

    Every time Image puts out a new series, it almost ALWAYS looks intriguing. But I'm frequently spending beyond my budget as it is, so I don't always act upon my instincts to buy what looks interesting. Often it's stylistic art that turns off my instincts. I'm pretty sure I'd get past it, but in the moment I need ANYTHING to talk myself out of going beyond my budget.     Introductory ramblings:As I always spend waaay too much time at the LCS just browsing issues that aren’t on my weekly pull list in a concerted effort to always go over budget “by mistake,” I just happened to casually grab and flip through this issue. Seeing as there wasn’t a lot to read on the first three pages or so I read them, skimmed the rest of the book, and was still undecided about its fate- that is, until I saw the last page.     There’s an almost screenplay quality to the first issue of Image’s new miniseries, Harvest. With a divisive and troubled lead character fronting a unique and mature plot with a string of interlacing subplots - it wouldn’t surprise me if writer, A.J. Lieberman was influenced by hit shows such as Breaking Bad or Mad Men.
