Hal Jordan returns to the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps and leads a team of Lanterns to bring in Goldface, the killer of Jordan's old friend and fellow Lantern, Tomar-Re.

In the opening pages of this issue, Hal Jordan was once again awarded a power ring and his old familiar uniform as he returned to the ranks of the cosmic police force he had grown accustomed to. Written by Steve Englehart and drawn by Joe Staton, this landmark issue also saw Hal visit Star Sapphire, now leader of the alien tribe known as the Zamarons, and it featured the return of Appa Ali Apa, a Guardian of the Universe who had encountered both Hal and Green Arrow years before.
