    Origin

Although few details have been given, it can be assumed that the Giant Woman Squad was formed in the same manner as the Giant Man Squad; through utilization of the Pym Particles created and later refined by Hank Pym and S.H.I.E.L.D., as an answer to super-human threats. Another assumption is that the squad is made from S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives who were volunteered as candidates for the Giant Woman program. Like her Earth 616 counterpart, Cassie Lang gained her ability to grow (and shrink, though this has never been observed) from Pym Particles. Unlike her 616 counterpart however, Ultimate Universe Cassie leads the Giant Woman Squadron.

    Creation

Created by Sam Humphries and Luke Ross, the Giant Woman Squad first appeared in Ultimate Comics Ultimates #17.

    Current Events

It can be assumed that after the battle with HYDRA, and the circumstances around the appearance of the Infinity Gems and Reed Richard's attack on the Ultimates, that the Giant-Woman Squad has been temporarily disbanded. Cassie Lang, though offered a place on the Ultimates, has since been affiliated with the recently formed Howling Commandos, in response to Reed's aforementioned attack against SHIELD and the Ultimates.
