    The plot of this mini-series revealed events that occurred after the television G.I. Joe Extreme series, but also contradicts it on several points. Among other things, the series tells the story of Iron Klaw's rise to power.

    This series is also known by its subtitle Extreme Times Call For Extreme Heroes, volume 1.

    This mini-series launched an ongoing series by the same name, but it lasted only four issues.
