    Little is known of the new characters from Black Summer by Warren Ellis. It's not completely clear whether Frank Blacksmith actually received any of the gun-enhancements he helped create. What readers do know by Issue #0, is that he is not dead as he was believed to be by the surviving members and the public.

    Frank is no longer a member of The Seven Guns group he helped to create. He is actively working in the Intelligence community (unnamed agency) and his mission is to kill The Seven Guns. He attempts this by try to take out Tom Noir first, believing that the injured and sick would be the easiest target. Tom uses intellect over the hitman's braun and though injured, he is still alive.

    So by Issue no. 1, Frank Blacksmith is now an enemy of The Seven Guns team.
