The search for the egg continues, as we learn that it is a technotroid, a special creature which once hatched serves as an invulnerable bodyguard to the Skrull Empress. De'Lila hopes to be there when it hatches so that it will imprint to her and she can then use it to assassinate the Emperor. While the heroes search and fight for it, the real Fantastic Four manage to get free of the bonds De'Lila had placed them in. They soon fly off and join the rest of the heroes deep within Monster Isle. The egg is eventually found and indeed hatches, but ends up bonding with one of the huge monster inhabitants of the isle...thus thwarting De'Lila's ultimate plan!
