    With the Fantastic Four broken up, Ben Grimm reminisces on the good and bad times he and the team shared throughout the years. A retrospective issue any True Believer will enjoy!

    The Way It Was

    While fretting over the imminent dissolution of the Fantastic Four, Ben reads through his diary, and recounts the incredible tale of the Fantastic Four legend to Alicia.

    Notes

    • This issue would seem to indicate that the apparent problem of staffing that no doubt led to FF #189 being a reprint issue, had still not been solved by the time FF #190 arrived. While this story is not actually a reprint, the script is basically a collection of FF events, an "album issue" showcasing their past exploits and villains with a change in the art. Hence, it is also not a completely new story. Sal and Tony really had their work cut out for them in this issue!
    • Stan Lee is credited as "Inspiration".
    • Features the Hostess Fruit Pies ad, Thor In "The Ding-A-Ling Family"
