    Elmer Cecil Stoner was one of the first African-American artist to work in the field of comics working mainly for the Iger Studios he was the main artist on Blackstone for EC, the Bouncer for Fox, and Phantasmo for Dell, as well as producing art for Captain Marvel, Lance O'Casey Blue Beetle, Martan the Marvel Man, The Challenger, Doc Savage, Iron Munro, Ajax the Sunman, and others.

    Leaving comics in the 50s he became a prominent portrait and landscape painter.
