Most of this Special's articles are presented as being from within the Doctor Who universe and taken from The Metropolitan newspaper, exposing facts about the top-secret organisation UNIT. The issue also includes two prose shorts, Dan Abnett's Listening Watch and A Wee Deoch an...?, written by Colin Baker, the actor who played the sixth Doctor on television. Dan Abnett also wrote the issue's comic strip, The Man in the Ion Mask, detailing the third Doctor preventing the Master escaping from UNIT custody following his capture at the end of the TV story The Daemons.
