Kid gang working for Mister Melmoth

    Short summary describing this team.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

    Origin

The Deviants, also known as the Deviant Ones, were initially formed by Melmoth. Composed of delinquent children and runaways, Melmoth tasked his gang with performing various illegal missions for him, in exchange for food and lodging.

    Creation

The Deviants were created by Grant Morrison and Frazer Irving. They made their first appearance in Seven Soldiers: Klarion #3.

    Team Evolution

The Deviants are composed of an ever-changing roster of children under the age of 16. Upon turning 16, members are promoted to Team Red, which is secretly a slaving operation on Mars. Though the gang reports to Melmoth, it is in practice headed by a member of the gang, typically the eldest.

    Major Story Arcs

    Seven Soldiers of Victory

The Deviants welcome a new member, Klarion, who joins the team in sneaking into the Manhattan Museum of Superhumanity and stealing a subterranean drill. Later that night the gang's leader, Billy Beezer, is dragged off to join Team Red. Klarion learns the truth and reveals to the members of the gang that Team Red is a hard labour gang, and that if they stay with Melmoth they will inevitably become his slaves. They ask Klarion to remain and save them from Melmoth, but he declines. The fate of the gang is uncertain; it is presumed dissolved after the defeat of Melmoth on Mars.
