Tim and James go to pick up Gary Slator, who is being released from prison after serving his sentence for arson. It seems Mr. Slator has developed a compulsion to burn down Bible colleges because a Greek professor once undercut his faith in the King James Version of the Bible by suggesting that that translation and many others are not based upon the original autographs. Because of this one encounter, Slator has made it his life mission to burn down as many Bible colleges as he can.

Tim and James, along with Biblical scholar Dr. Hillman, defend the veracity of the King James translation against challenges made by Greek and Hebrew scholars. The eventual conclusion drawn in the story is that the King James Version of the Bible is the only real Bible and that all other translations have been corrupted by liberal Bible scholars and the Catholic Church. Gary Slator is convinced that he shouldn't have believed his Greek professor so readily and decides to stop trying to burn down Bible colleges.
