During World War I, the Crimson Cavalier joined Freedom`s Five. Prior to the war he was known to have run various gangs of thugs in France, yet still at the outbreak of the war he became his nation's leading hero during the Great War. Along with his teammates they fought villains including Baron Blood, Ursula Frankenstein, a creator of corpse soldiers, and Martian Invaders. After the war he returned to his criminal ways and although the actual events are not known, he died before World War II. Union Jack stated that all his old comrades where dead before the second war had begun. It was once believed that he is related to the Swordsman but in fact he is a relative of Batroc the Leaper.
Creation
Crimson Cavalier was created by Roy Thomas and Frank Robbins in 1976 and first appeared in The Invaders # 7.
