Proper Japanese Title: 増刊コミック乱ツインズ 戦国武将列伝
Sengoku Bushō Retsuden began as an ongoing special issue of Comic Ran Twins with a focus on major figures from the Sengoku period of Japanese history. The magazine was a mostly-seasonal release before settling on bimonthly in 2006. In this incarnation it ran for 23 issues before it was relaunched as an independent magazine (Comic Ran Twins: Sengoku Bushō Retsuden).
Of the three major Comic Ran magazines (Ran, Twins, Sengoku), Sengoku stands out as the only one to have never been headlined by (or even feature) Takao Saito who was the founder of the publisher and generally prominent in its magazines. While most of the authors who did appear in Sengoku were also regulars in one of the older Ran magazines, the most notable exception was Go Nagai who co-headlined the first issue and remained a regular into the relaunch.
