    Current Events

As of Super Street Fighter IV (2010), Cammy has been investigating Shadaloo and S. I. N.'s connections to Project B. L. E. C. E. while also seeking out and rehabilitating other Dolls such as herself.

    Origin

Cammy White was introduced in Super Street Fighter II as a 19 year old girl driven to fight in the Street Fighter tournament in order to find answers about her mysterious past. At the end of the game, M. Bison reveals to Cammy that she was an assassin for Shadaloo and that he intentionally planted her in Delta Red, but hadn't counted on her losing her memories. In Street Fighter Alpha 3, the prequel to Street Fighter II, Cammy is shown as an assassin working for Shadaloo as a member of The Dolls. She breaks free of her mind control and, after losing her memory, becomes a member of Delta Red.

    Creation

Cammy made her first appearance in Super Street Fighter II. She was originally conceived by Noritaka Funamizu, the head of research and development on Super Street Fighter II, who wanted to bring a second female character into series. Bengus, Street Fighter's character artist, provided designs for her and created her iconic pony tails because he believed they would give her character more movement. Her original appearance, with a red beret, green leotard, and black army boots, would later be referred to as her "Delta Red" costume. In Street Fighter Alpha 3, a new design was created for Cammy by the series' new character designer, Akiman, and would debut in X-Men vs. Street Fighter in 1996 and would make her first canonical debut in Street Fighter Alpha 3 in 1998. This version of Cammy would be referred to as her "Shadaloo" or "Killer Bee" version.

    Character Evolution

    Street Fighter Alpha 3

Cammy was originally a brainwashed Shadaloo assassin active under the code-name "Killer Bee". While on a

mission to eliminate Dhalsim, Dhalsim weakened Shadaloo's mind-control by telepathically scanning her subconscious. Later, Vega was sent by M. Bison to destroy Cammy after sensing that they were losing their control over her mind. She swiftly defeated Vega and went to find M. Bison in search of answers. M. Bison showed no sympathy for Cammy and left her to be killed by two of Shadaloo's Dolls, Juni and Juli. It was in this battle that Cammy received her signature scar on her left cheek. After defeating M. Bison and The Dolls, M. Bison revealed that Cammy had just been a mere clone of himself and was planned to be his next vessel should his current body ever fail him. He also revealed that she possessed a small fraction of his psycho power and if he were to die she would die along with him. After defeating M. Bison, she escorted the remaining unconscious Dolls out of the base and fainted. Vega saved her life due to his compassion towards so called "beautiful humans" and left her in front of a British paramilitary government organization called Delta Red.

Super Street Fighter II: The New Warriors

When Cammy awoke, she had amnesia and couldn't recall any events from her life under Shadaloo's control. Like a stray cat, which Cammy would

feel affection towards from that moment on, Delta Red took her in. In spite of her amnesia, she still was capable of using all the fighting skills and abilities that she had learned from Shadaloo, which made her a highly valued member of Delta Red. When the second World Warrior tournament had been announced and Bison was heard to take part in it, she instantly joined feeling some kind of past previous connection with him. After encountering Bison a second time, he revealed to her that she was once an assassin for Shadaloo and that he had planned to use her to infiltrate Delta Red, but hadn't counted on her losing her memory. Her team members encouraged her not to worry about the past and live for her future and whatever comes.

In Udon's Street Fighter comic book series, Cammy again starts out as an agent of Shadaloo and her story is based largely upon what was in the Street Fighter Alpha 3. However, in the comic and in the anime series Street Fighter II V she was sent to assassinate Chun-Li's father, while in the video games, Chun-Li's assassin was not specifically identified. And she was the second of two clones of M. Bison, the first being the mysterious Decapre who shares the same fighting style as Cammy. After breaking free from Shadaloo's mind control, this time with help from Rose, Cammy loses all memory of ever being a Doll and joins Delta Red. In one of Cammy's missions, she crosses paths with Chun-Li, who identifies her as her father's assassin, and the two engage in battle. Cammy manages to explain to Chun-Li that she had no awareness of her actions and Chun-Li learns to forgive her. Together, they both work to bring down Shadaloo.

And the third was reminiscent of Catwoman, fusing both Darwyn Cooke's goggles with the purple Catwoman costume that preceded it. This version was designed by Daigo Ikeno and was inspired by Cammy's love of cats.

however, she speaks very gently and with a great deal of compassion, especially when caring for former members of The Dolls, whom she refers to as her "sisters". Cammy feels a deep affinity towards cats and is often depicted feeding and caring for cats, perhaps because she's something of a stray cat herself. Cammy is also burdened by a deep feeling of guilt over having been an assassin for Shadaloo, but she has learned to overcome her feelings of guilt by looking towards the future.

Cammy appeared in the USA Network's Street Fighter: The Animated Series (1995-97) voiced by Lisa Ann Beley. Her character in the series started out as a semi-prominent member of the Street Fighter team, who sometimes flirted with Guile. Later on in season 2, due to subliminal brainwashing performed on her in her younger life, she is depicted as M. Bison's sycophantic lover, presumably based upon the original American version of Cammy's ending in Super Street Fighter II in which M. Bison erroneously tells Cammy that they were once in love; this would last until the final episode of the series. Cammy also appeared in the anime Street Fighter II V (voiced by Debra Jean Rogers) as an assassin hired by Shadaloo, to kill Chun-Li's father Dorai. Cammy is tricked by Balrog, disguised as an Interpol agent, she meets Fei Long, who convinces her that she has been tricked. Her appearance in this series differed the greatest from her appearance in the video games and the American TV series, showing her dressed in black street clothes with a cross necklace and fighting with a garrote. She would make the sign of the cross before she performed each hit, showing her as a very devout Catholic.

    Movies

Cammy (voiced by Debra Jean Rogers) appeared in the 1994 anime, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie as a mind-controlled sleeper agent of Shadaloo working for British intelligence. This incarnation was the first to show Cammy's signature red rain coat, which would make a later appearance in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Also in 1994, Cammy appeared in the live-action Street Fighter film and was portrayed by Australian pop-singer Kylie

Minogue. She appears as a British agent working alongside Guile and the Allied Nations to bring down the evil South Asian dictatorship of Shadaloo, ruled by the tyrannical M. Bison. She also appeared in Street Fighter IV prequel movie, Street Fighter IV: The Ties that Bind, in which she investigates the BLECE Project and Shadaloo after British intelligence detects a pulse of energy in the Amazon that they believe is connected to Shadaloo. In the film, she defends Ryu from C. Viper, but receives serious injuries in the process. She is voiced by Caitlin Glass (who also voices her in the game the film is based on).
