He proposed to Caesar that the way to defeat the Gauls was to do it away from the battlefield. His method was corrupting them, turning them thoughts from battle to profit. He bought menhirs from Obelix and later other villagers. This introduced trade and capitalism to the village, giving the Gauls a taste of Roman luxury.
