    Synopsis

Ch'Vayre reveals to his followers that Cable is the savior the world needs to avert the threat of Apocalypse. He relates a story that shows how the present Cable has learned from lessons of youth.

In the future (Ch'Vayre's story), Cable saves a young Askani member from the New Canaanites by rushing into battle without backup. Fortunately, his friends follow him and snipe the enemy. When the young Askani tries to beat his captors, Cable restrains him and lectures him on the need to show mercy to those who don't understand you.

In the present, Cable's evening mirrors the story Ch'Vayre tells, in that a mutant-supporting young man is cornered by some ruffians and Cable saves the boy. The boy is a mutant, however, and retaliates by invading his attackers' minds with nightmares. Cable shuts this down and delivers a similar lecture to the young mutant.

At Xavier's school, Jean senses a collision course between Cable and the newly rejuvenated Madelyne Pryor.
