    Still reeling from her breakup with Angel, Buffy declines to go to the Sadie Hawkins dance with a boy who asks her to ask him.

    On her way to the library she witnesses the attempted shooting of a girl by her boyfriend. But strangely there's no gun minutes after Buffy intervenes. Principal Snyder takes Buffy in for questioning.

    The Scooby Gang soon learn that a murder/suicide that happened at Sunnydale High in the 1950s repeats itself every year on the eve of the Sadie Hawkins dance.
