When Brunt turned state's evidence to get himself out of prison and he was transported to a safe-house, the armored car was hijacked, it turned out that the hijacker was interested in Brunt. He was moved to an old barn along with two officers who were safeguarding him. The two officers were Sara Pezzini and Patrick Gleason. Pezzini used her weapon called Witchblade to fight the hijacker, but when Brunt set himself free and was about to kill Pezzini, the hijacker shot him into back of his head. Brunt is dead, and the killer was known as the Punisher.
