Grant Morrison is acclaimed because he is one of the few writers who really push the medium to its potential. Part of the reason he can do this is because of his knowledge in the Occult.   There will always be three types of readers that walk away from a Grant Morrison story: (1) Those that had no idea what happened and did not like it, (2) Those that had no idea or little idea what really happened but enjoyed the story and (3) those who understand the messages between the lines.  ...

Grant Morrison continues his tale of Bruce Wayne's return through time, and this month its a stop in the cowboy days. And it does not disappoint. Morrison's writing is fantastic as ever and this month he's joined by another great artist, Georges Jeanty (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). He may not be the best artist that Morrison has worked with, but he's not the worst.  His art is a bit more cartoony than most, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good, because it does look damn good. I am in the minority that is just not impressed with this mini series. We've essentially reached the turning point in which Batman starts to take on more of the characteristics of Batman, but still, month after month, I drag my feet to read this. As another reviewer pointed out, if not for the Bruce Wayne name, this comic would not find it's way into my shopping bag.
