    After suffering a cataclysmic earthquake, the U.S. government has deemed Gotham City as uninhabitable and ordered all citizens to leave. It is now months later and those that have refused to vacate "No Man's Land" live amidst a citywide turf war in which the strongest prey on the weak. As gangs terrorize the ravaged populace, the Scarecrow uses a church relief project as a real life lab to test his experiments in fear. But with the return of the vigilante, Batman, and the appearance of an enigmatic new Batgirl, justice returns to Gotham.

    This volume is the first of five that recounts the NO MAN'S LAND storyline, and collects two four issue storylines "No Law and a New Order" featuring Scarface, and "Fear of Faith" featuring Scarecrow.

    Originally published as Batman: No Man's Land #1, Batman #563-564, Batman: Shadow of the Bat #83-84, Detective Comics #730-731, and Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #116.

    That was awesome. I had heard good things about No Man's Land, but that was even better than I had thought it would be. Why is it so awesome? Read on and see. First off, the writing is fantastic for both stories. No Law and a New Order's writer Bob Gale is very good at his dialogue and he does the characters justice. Fear of Faith's writer Devin K. Grayson is even better than Gale, and that's saying something. The art in both stories is also fantastic. No Law's penciler Alex Maleev is very good ...

    So, I'm reading the No Mans Land story arc after thoroughly enjoying Cataclysm and Road to No Mans Land. Never realised that this was the plan: a lawless destitue Gotham, made alien to the rest of the world. Police have to resort to turf war tactics like all the other gangs, while Batman tries to restore justice and peace in a Gotham he's not used to.Most vehicles, machinery and electricity in Gotham is down and the first writer starts of the arc brilliantly. I don't know much about Bob Gale but...
