Black Manta shows up in Sub Diego, but he's not looking for a fight. Not yet, anyway! Tempest, on the other hand, seems to be just itching for one-with Aquaman. But what are they fighting over? Aquaman's wife, Mera!

Aquaman sails with Esther on her boat summoning a whale for her, and having her return at 10:30 to meet him.Aquaman then returns to Sub-Diego to learn that Black Manta is in the city, while Alonzo continues his healing at an accelerated rate.Black Manta then announces to the assembled citizens that he is taking the genetherapy to make his home in the oceans, before he is blindsided from behind by Aquaman. He then prepares to beat Manta but is stopped by the African Americans of Sub-Diego and the arrival of Koryak and Lorena.Koryak then tells Aquaman the story of how his exile was ended, as Esther is discouraged from her story by her editor. While back in Atlantis Aquaman returns to learn of Mera's declining health, while standing up Esther.
