    Buddy appears to be adjusting back to his life, but is Ellen as happy to have him back as he hoped?

    With his wife Ellen headed to the big city for a few days, Buddy Baker is left to spend some quality time alone with the kids. This leads to one crazy day at the market courtesy of a son seeking some adult videos such as "The Taxidermist 2" and a daughter who becomes horrified at the sight of slaughtered animals hanging on display in a "family friendly" grocery store. And in the City, after hanging up the phone on Buddy following a sexually-charged discussion, Ellen is come onto by her friend's boyfriend Mikey who seems to have some sinister intentions...

     Superhero comics usually follow a simple model. A villain does something bad, leading to the hero coming along to mete out justice. Then there are the superhero books that try to be "realistic", by deconstructing this black and white situation into more complex shades of gray. Animal Man is one step further removed from the traditional superhero tropes- though nominally a series about a semi-active costumed hero, under writer Jamie Delaney the book is more an analysis of human nature.   ...
