    Great throw back to Golden Age Superman 0

    The Good  I'm the first to admit that I don't know a ton about Superman other than his Golden Age origin. I know about his flight from a doomed Krypton, his adolescence in Smallville with the Kents, and his work at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane. The basics. This series, or at least the first 6 issues in this trade, does a great job of re-introducing us to Superman.  What I really enjoyed was the artwork.     All-Star Superman takes flight... Not Quite-ly 0

    So after much hype and a long wait, I have finally read the first volume of Grant Morrison & Frank Quitely's All-Star Superman. I have to say, it was disappointing for me. I have never been a Superman fan, at least not since I got into comics, but I just had to give this praised run a try.     Grant Morrison may just be the most celebrated active superhero writer.  His Vertigo work alone speaks volumes of his ground breaking comic series, such as Animal Man and The Invisibles.  Vertigo is where he set the marker.  Main-stream superheros is where he is raising the bar.    All-Star Superman is a 12 issue series in which he recreates major Superman events in a way newer fans can understand, but the older ones are appreciated of them.  This first volume is easily accessible.  No past S...
