    "GODS AND SOLDIERS" PART ONE

    Eisner Award winner James Robinson (STARMAN, EARTH 2) returns to MARVEL, uniting with Steve Pugh (ANIMAL MAN, HOTWIRE, GEN-X) to create a unique, modern day take on the INVADERS.

    The KREE EMPIRE intends to conquer the universe using a weapon that will grant them an army of NORSE GODS.

    It falls to four heroes united by their past-CAPTAIN AMERICA, NAMOR, THE ORIGINAL HUMAN TORCH and the WINTER SOLDIER-who must now face the future and wage war against the Kree to save Earth.

    The Good:The focus in this issue is squarely on the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond. I feel like this was a good move on the part of James Robinson as he is probably the least well known of the four members in this book. Robinson does a great job handling the character as we get a great look at his personality and his own flaws and inner demons. Hammond has settled down for a quiet life but that is quickly interrupted by the arrival of Tanalth the Pursuer.Tanalth is a brand new character and ...

    James Robinson is probably best known for his work at DC Comics, having recently finished his run on Earth 2. He has however started writing for Marvel again, with this along with the upcoming Fantastic Four relaunch being the first two titles he's working on. As for this issue Robinson did a terrific job of setting up this storyline, introducing the Kree as the main threat perfectly. I also loved how it focused mainly on Jim Hammond (the original Human Torch) as although it would have been nice...

    Won't Be Invading My Pull List 0

    For a while, the All New Invaders seemed like a fantastic series to be sinking y time and money into, capturing a cool aesthetic and time in the present. However, the series just doesn't give me enough to grasp on to to justify furthering my time with the series. The dialogue, though not bad, can be rather spotty, and often filled with awkward exposition. Hell, the villain spends an entire panel spelling out her evil plan to our heroes when there is literally no reason to and not doing so would...
