Akiko

Origin

Akiko is a ten year old girl who is whisked off from her rather ordinary home into the wonderful fantasy world of aliens, distant planet, action an adventure. Akiko is joined by Spuckler, the Han Solo-esque devil-may-care rougish pilot,  the scholarly and easily panicked Mr. Beeba, Gax  their loyal robot and Poog who tags along seemingly at wonder at the scrapes they get themselves into. While not being the heroic adventurer type her down to earth sense and practical thinking often get  Akiko friends out of the sticky situations they run into so blindly. 

Creation 

Created by Mark Crilley who writes and illustrates all his own work and her story published by Sirius Entertainment. While Akiko as a comic covers 52 issues her adventures moved into the realm of the novel with several stories carrying on her odyssey in that format. 

Character Evolution

Akiko grows up as the stories progress and while she is but a little girl when first she is picked by mistake to rescue a lost prince, and the story reflects that in its simplicity, as she ages so the content and tone of the stories become more complex and deal with issues of loss and darker themes. That said they never loose their sense of fun nor dwell on the negative.  

Major Story Arcs 

In her first adventure Akiko is whipped off to Planet Smoo to rescue the missing prince. She meets her crew of intrepid helpers and journey around Smoo to find their target.  
  
In an epic journey they travel Smoo in order to rescue the young prince from the evil Alia Rellapor. Along the way they make some wonderful friends including: Queen Pwip and P.Q. Goybi. They also face many trials and  Loza Throck a business acquaintance of Spuckler who has some secrets of his own.
      
After only a short break they start a new quest for the Bornstone's Elixir to save Mr. Beeba's old friend. 
       
Later she and Mr. Beeba help defend Spuckler's family home from destruction.
