While DC has revealed a few clues about their upcoming big event over the course of the last couple of weeks, it seems they saved all their big reveals for today. Late Thursday DC announced the official solicitation for the first issue of Flashpoint, and today we got a peek at the covers and creative teams for many of the Flashpoint mini series. While there is a lot that we do not know, the covers and the solicitation do spell out a heck of a lot for us. According to DC, Flashpoint is "not a dream, not an imaginary story, not an elseworld. [It is] a Flash fact."
== TEASER ==

Barry Allen wakes at his desk, he discovers the world has changed. Family is alive, loved ones are strangers, and close friends are different, gone or worse. It’s a place where America’s last hope is Cyborg, who hopes to gather the forces of the Outsider, the Secret 7, S!H!A!Z!A!M!, Citizen Cold and other new and familiar-yet-altered faces.

There was a considerable amount of speculation about whether or not Flashpoint would affect DC's regular Universe —and it seems that the question regarding how it will fit in with continuity has been answered. Barry Allen awakens to find the world he once knew turned on its head. Fellow heroes and many of his friends are now his enemies, and he is forced to find those responsible for the changes. This is not the first time that DC has used a change in the time stream to tell an interesting story. Time travel in comics is not something to be taken lightly —any slight change can cause massive ripples in current continuity, with often some rather grave circumstances. Based on these new covers, the changes in the DCU will not only happen in current continuity, but they will happen on an international scale. The first issue of Flashpoint will hit this may. Will you be checking it out? What do you think about the covers? What could it mean for the future of the DC Universe?

The Outsider cover reminds me of when Alfred was a white mutant called The Outsider. Could it be when Tony and Sara joked with James Robinson that he should write a Alfred series that he took it seriously?

#7 Posted by Crimson Eagle (1838 posts) - - Show Bio

The "Flashpoint Batman" suit looks wierd.

Wouldn't that be something? ;)

Wow, didn't really recognize WW on the first one, but great i'll be glad to see what DC's got in mind with this flash thing!

Another DC crap.

I'm not digging Abin Sur's GL costume looking like it the movie costumes. I hate when they do that! Don't know what to make of "casino-owner Batman", but I'm not hating on it until I see/read more about it. I really want to see what's going with Lois and Kid Flash. All in all, I'm psyched about Flashpoint.

Loving that Abin Sur cover...the Wonder Woman one is nice too

@johnny spam:
It pretty much has to be, doesn't it?  Same name, looks pretty much the same, and no one in DC looks that good in a posh suit and gloves except Alfred.
#17 Posted by Eyz (3095 posts) - - Show Bio

And now it really is sure, and confirmed.
Flashpoint is DC's answer to Marvel's House of M!
Right down to the narration, the way the on-goings will tie in, etc...

Well, at least I'm a big sucker fro What if.. and Elseworlds stories, so I'll probably love this big crazy out-worldish scenario~

Even one of these looks amazing. Totally sold.

Secret Seven makes no sense to me, who are those people (except the woman in the back looks very much like the Enchantress, but in this wierd world it might be someone else).

But it looks very interesting, all of them.

@Outside_85: The man on Secret Seven is a character called Shade I am not familiar with him myself but he was what started Peter Milligan's career and this books seems to mark the return of the character in DC's superhero universe.
#22 Posted by Red Rum (357 posts) - - Show Bio

This looks like it's going to be DC's equivalent to House of M.

#23 Posted by Video_Martian (5645 posts) - - Show Bio

Aww, hell yeah, I'm SOOOO gonna read this!!!  =D

#28 Posted by Golden Cod (422 posts) - - Show Bio

Frankenstein Squad vs Nazis?!?!   Why didn't Mike Mignola do this?!

And I can't wait for Wonderwoman and the Furies.   Hard to go wrong with Dan Abnett's war stories.

#29 Posted by longbowhunter (7046 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the idea behind all of this, but I doubt I'll buy any of these.
#30 Posted by Beast_in_the_Shadows (428 posts) - - Show Bio

Aw, Babs, you didn't include the most enigmatic one (at least the one that has me most confused and intrigued)  The Canterbury Cricket.

For people who didn't see it on the source, The Canterbury Cricket is a new character (as far as I can tell) who is getting it's own one-shot and it is the creature climbing on the phone booth in the Flashpoin: Lois Lane cover.

#31 Posted by The Lobster (1507 posts) - - Show Bio

Awe, Shade the Changing Man get's to be in a major DC event, but John Constantine doesn't.....major bummer.

#32 Posted by GraveSp (318 posts) - - Show Bio

I didn't realize Milligan would be writing for it.  I'm actually excited

#33 Posted by waruikumo (357 posts) - - Show Bio

#34 Posted by haydenclaireheroes (9001 posts) - - Show Bio

Wow I am pretty excited for Kid Flash, Wonder Woman, and the Lois Lane one. I think Flash Point is going to be a great story arc.

#35 Posted by AMP - Seeker of Lost Knowledge (1221 posts) - - Show Bio

I am still curious about how FLASHPOINT Wonder Woman and Aquaman will turn things around...

#36 Posted by Seraphim84 (58 posts) - - Show Bio

Huh.  Sounds a little more like a Marvel story, but that'll make it all the more intriguing in the DC universe.

#37 Posted by busterblader (21 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm troubled by Abin Sur's costume, looks more like the Ryan Reynolds costume than the current comic lanterns.

#38 Posted by Supreme Marvel (11264 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the Bart Allen one with the Shazam Symbol.

#39 Posted by Catastrophic (312 posts) - - Show Bio

Liking the Wonder Woman look and the Lois Lane cover as well.  I'll probably be keeping my eye's on Comicvine (like always, lol) to follow this one.
