FLASH QUESTION: Will Sinestro side with Abin Sur against the Guardians of Oa, or is all hope lost?

Abin Sur finds himself on Earth to retrieve the white entity. Yet his priorities change when he meets Hal Jordan and realizes how valuable and worth saving Earth is. As he forms an allegiance with Cyborg to save the doomed planet, Abin Sur is secretly visited by Sinestro. How will his old friend’s reveal of the prophecy called “Flashpoint” affect Abin Sur’s mission to protect Earth? And what does it mean for their relationship?

Abin and his spacecraft have crashed on Earth, but he has apparently not received any unrecoverable injuries. When the human Hal Jordan approaches, Abin requests his help in saving Earth. However, Cyborg appears on the scene and declares that the ship is now property of the United States. Once Abin has healed, he explains the situation to Cyborg, as well as his intention to save the Earth.

Later, at the White House, the President presents Abin Sur to the world as a rescuer of hundreds of European refugees. As Abin scans for survivors in Europe, he finds only one, Sinestro, who tells Abin about the Flashpoint prophecy. When Abin doesn't believe him, Sinestro declares that as long as Abin is alive, his plans cannot work. As they fight, Sinestro cuts off Abin's hand, and his ring with it.

Poorly written, poorly drawn, and poorly conceived... 0

In terms of Flashpoint, this is a book that should carry some significance and weight. Unfortunately this is an average at best book that falls woefully short of any expectations I may have had. Abin Sur has either briefly appeared or been mentioned in several Flashbook titles. After the first issue simply served as a vehicle to get Abin Sur to earth, I expected this issue to establish him in the Flashpoint timeline and launch his story forward. Neither of these things really happened.  Adam Sc...
