This "First Born" story has been built up as the big event in the Top Cow universe. They were right. I've been waiting to review this out of fear of spilling the beans. I have been drawn back to these characters that I used to read in the last decade. This is just such a huge issue. It really pulls out all the stops in setting up what is going to happen. My only hope is that they will be able to keep up this momentum.
I loved seeing all the different characters being pulled in to this story. It was nice seeing Cyberforce again. I do wonder where the rest of the team was. It's also nice to see the recent events from Witchblade coming into play. Will we find out who the father of Sara's kid is? Will the Angelus find a permanent host? I cannot wait to find out how things play out.
Of course I have to mention the art. Phenomenal. Yeah there was a time or two things seemed a little weird but it's just amazing to read an entire comic with such beautiful art. It's like every panel should be in a frame on a wall.
Now to start counting the days until issue #2 comes out...

The countdown is finally over, and another re-awakening. Getting this outta the way, the art is just gorgeous, by far some of the best detailed work I've seen in awhile. (*and a past ish artist, who is so talented, id call their works "deviant and sexy".) there i said it. Onto the issue itself, on one side the coming down of angels, on the other the fall of darkness. It feels so weird to put that down into words, but its truth. And there are still many secrets hidden within this critical storyline. And lo, I will not give anymore away. Any witchblade, or darkness (or comic book) fan owes it to themselves, buy this, buy it now.

I am a really, really new reader to Top Cow, but I have to say this and the recent Witchblades I have read are great.
The art here is outstanding. The story is mesmerizing. I love it. Sara is becoming to me a very great character and so is her bf. Also the Darkness and Cyberforce was pretty cool. Jackie thinks the baby inside Sara is his. Wow...just think of the problems that will come of that. A baby of the dark side and a light/dark buffer.
I will religiously read the rest of this series if it is this good.
