    A ragtag crew made mostly of ex-rebels in the galactic civil war travel throughout the galaxy pulling off smuggling jobs and doing other odd job to try and scrape by. But as they take on two unexpected crew members the dynamic of the crew drastically shifts and they have to work together in order to keep one step ahead of the alliance which is hunting down their new crew-mates.

    The series and most of it's hanging plot threads were wrapped up in the 2005 movie - Serenity.
