Plot Summary
Divorce is tough for any teenager, but when your mother is a typical suburban soccer mom and your dad is a 300 foot tall, city trampling, battleship devouring monster things get even tougher. This is Duncan Rosenblatt's reality. His mom wants him to get into a good college, his dad wants him to go into the family business, namely conquering the earth and ascending to his rightful place as king of all monsters. Duncan's darkest nightmares become a reality when he is forced by his father to face another monster in savage combat. Are these brutal tests really meant to help him control his powers, as his father says, or to destroy his humanity? Back at home, the fragile relationships Duncan has forged with his fellow students are shattered by a shocking betrayal.
