The mystery that is...Medusa!

Synopsis

Medusa introduces her son Ahura to the Future Foundation kids. He makes a sterling first impression by explaining that people have said that he isn't crazy anymore. The kids scoot away from him as he sits down. Medusa then begins the lesson for the day, a deep number about the representation of women through the centuries.

Elsewhere, Darla enters Ant-Man's room and finds him obsessing over Alex Powers. Darla sees the apartment in disarray and chides Ant-Man for failing to act like an adult. He freaks out that he may not be up to the task of keeping the kids safe but Darla assures him that he can - they merely have to worry about old Johnny Storm.

Old Johnny Storm is doing worrisome things. He enters a trendy store and tells himself that he is safe and no one will find him sleeping there. The proprietor tries to intervene but it merely sets Johhny off. Johnny seems to surprise himself by lighting on fire. He shoots out of the store in his full Human Torch glory.

At the Baxter Building, Medusa thanks Crystal for bringing her son. Crystal's daughter Luna uses her powers and stares into Medusa and sees a very dark entity. When Luna asks Medusa about looking "un-good" Medusa scolds the girl for looking into royal things. She then turns nice and offers Luna a cookie.

In another room, Darla tries on some head protection. After many, many poor choices, Dragon Man gives Darla a helmet that duplicates Susan Richards's powers. Just then, an alarm goes off. The Fantastic Four assemble and see that old Johnny Storm is torching up New York City. Medusa voices her hope that the FF will be gentle with their crazy friend.

Before heading out to stop Johnny Storm, Ant-Man stops into a class to see if any of the students have ideas as how to stop the Human Torch. He rushes out and Vil and Wu exchange a glance. Outside, She-Hulk is fastball specialed by Darla and knocks Johnny down. Ant-Man shrinks and enters Johnny's ear and threatens to taze the inner ear unless Johnny settles down. Just then, Bworg the Many-Spouted rises from the river and sends a tidal wave onto the street, extinguishing any flame Johnny tries to produce. For good measure, Ant-Man tazes Johnny.

Later, after yet another bad newspaper article, Ant-Man greets the uncle of Vil and Wu and expresses his pride in the two.

In the medical bay, Johnny is in a medical coma. He is still able to moan out that Doom must be stopped.

In Latveria, Alex Powers approaches Dr. Doom's castle and explains that he is the one sending emails. He is immediately let in the castle.

Elsewhere, Bentley 23 awakens to see his dad the Wizard standing with Medusa and Blastaar.

Burn, John, Burn! 0

Though not a bad issue, this one is somewhat more difficult to enjoy, mostly because this is, more or less, a transitional issue. There's a lot to establish, and Fraction tries his best to fit as much as possible here. With Alex Power having run away, John out and about, Scott a little hectic, and Medusa not completely right in the head, we see a pretty jammed issue that becomes a little too much. There's just too much being done here, and I wished this could have had the focus the previous issue...
