The Heart Wants What the Heart Wants

FF is the epitome of fun within the Marvel line-up nowadays (followed by the Amazing X-Men and Mighty Avengers), especially considering some of the dreary and super-serious titles. Well, this issue certainly shows us just how fun it can be, with a quick, somewhat non-consequential story that looks to do nothing but be silly. And it exceeds expectation.

More or less, the plot is that She-Hulk goes on a date-but-not-date, and the aliens, Mik, Torr, Turk, and Tong, get a wee bit jealous. Thus, shenanigans ensue. We get a lot from these characters, as well as some great action from Bentley 23, who we have yet to see much of. The plot is something of a sitcom when you look at it, but the characters make it really enjoyable despite this.

There is also some minor plot establishment that works well here and feels very natural. If there's one thing we know about Fraction, it's just how great his character development is. Plus, he leaves us with a juicy cliffhanger to keep us coming back for more.

This shows just how fantastic this team is; they take a fairly simple story and make it something so much more.

This issue really builds upon the various interactions between the characters, especially between the temporary FF and the Future Foundation.Ant-Man came up with a pretty drastic and massive sc...
