    FF #1 - Review

    The Good

Truth be told, I had low expectations for this comic. After seeing the preview, I wasn't sure if I should pick up this first number, but, thankfully, I gave it shot. And, boy, I wasn't disappointed.

This issue is extremely fun and funny at the same time. All of the kids of the Future Foundation (FF) gave a speech about the "school" and its "students". The dialogues are very well planned, and I thought the point of their speeches was to introduce the readers to the comic. It turns out, it isn't as you'll see at the end of the issue. You could say that the comic "begins at the end". Anyway, I loved seeing a bit of every kid, and I hope Fraction explores a bit more of them in the future.

The Fantastic Four try to convince Scott Lang, Ms. Thing, Medusa and She Hulk to take care of the Future Foundation while they are gone for four minutes. The dialogue between the heroes is very funny and makes the issue worth picking up just for the laughs.

By the way, there isn't any action, but, honestly, the issue was damn fun without it, so I wasn't displeased with the lack of fights.

    The Bad

The art here may cause mixed feelings. While it is some people's cup of tea, it may not please others. Unfortunately, I did not really fancy the artwork here. It felt lazy, but I'll probably get used to it.

    The Verdict

FF is off to an amazing start. Matt Fraction delivers lots of humour and enjoyment in this opening issue. The next numbers look very promising, although the artwork may hold 'em back. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get used to it. FF #1 gets a solid 8/10.

It is a fantastic four minutes to find replacements heroes to take the place of the FF as they go off on a very important vacation! The GoodMatt Fraction's ability to write unique and intriguing stories has put him on top of Marvel's best writers. If this issue is any indication, he's at the top of his game with a hilariously fun story about an important four minute vacation that FF must take. The dialogue highlights Fractions ability to both create realism and out of this world humor. However, t...

Let me start by saying I liked this. I'm saying that because when this was announced, I was very against this book. I thought the concept sounded dumb, the team looked lame, and it was going to be a waste.I read Fantastic Four, and did for most of Hickman's run. I never really bought FF outside of three issues. I was able to follow Fantastic Four just fine. I like Fraction as well. His run on Iron Man is probably the best in my opinion. I love what he is doing on Hawkeye. I liked Defenders for w...
