    Origin

The Femme Fatales are mercenaries for hire, led by Knockout. Team members Bloodlust and Whiplash had worked together before in the group Band of Baddies. Mindblast is the fourth member of the team.

    Creation

The team was created by Erik Larsen and David Michelinie, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #340, October 1990.

    Team Evolution

The four women received and accepted invitations to join Superia's Femizons. When that group dissolved, the Femme Fatales did not regroup, and they have each gone their separate ways.

    Major Story Arcs

The team was hired by Chameleon to threaten an ambassador. Spider-Man saved the ambassador, and the Femme Fatales then considered him an enemy. They briefly joined forces with Tarantula and Scorpion to attack him, but Spider-Man and Black Cat defeated them.

All four members joined Superia's female force, the Femizons, and disbanded soon after.

Bloodlust is depowered after the events of M-Day. Mindblast has retained her mutant abilities after that same cataclysmic event. Knockout's abilities may come from her armored costume, so may have been unaffected. Whiplash is said to be a mutant, but her powers were never revealed. Her and Whiplash's whereabouts after Decimation are unknown.
