Secret Avengers VS Vampires!....what else you need to know?

Since the start of fear itself. I always thought it was a reply to blackest night from DC which I felt that it too was going to end up having some sort of mini-series afterwards and it did happen (battle scars as well but i feel that it's going to another direction completely I believe) but this bi-monthly series has had a great run since issue 1 since it goes straight to the point.

This issue is simply action packed as Valkyrie is facing off bunch of vampires from last issue as the secret avengers come to her aid (still pissed off of what she did to War Machine...who doesn't appear in this issue even if the cover shows him very cool looking). As everyone is kicking lots of vampire butt, Raizo joins the group to fend off the attackers till Sharon gets bitten by one and probably start a whole new story arc revolving around vampire shar-...my bad she gets better with some golden apples that keep Valkyrie immortal and leaves on her flying pegasus while apologizing for not being able to explain her actions.....huh....that vampire bite thing felt kinda easy to fix... In the meantime crossbones and Sin see during some experiments with the hammers they posses doesn't affect them when everyone else is suffering to the point that they might die....showing us.....well.........who knows yet but looks interesting. And a bunch of weird guys I don't know planted a spider on Valkyrie's bag.

    The Good:

The cover for some reason is my favorite of previous month (kinda feels like it could had been used for a secret avengers issue). The story is very linear and straight to the point unlike brightest day that took it more than 8 issues to really start the thing and get us hooked. The objective on this mini-series is totally shown since issue 1 and is going to be a great ride as it's going right now (plus in the trades this series will shine even more). It's just a nice basic quest with cool action pack issues which I hope it will be remembered dearly.

    The Bad:

the interior art is kinda rough but I can understand because of the bi-monthly schedule...even if it's clear that there is more than one artist working on this. We sorta need more of Valkyrie's reasons why she is really doing this by herself (but probably it will be explained soon so it isn't such a bad thing).

    Overall: 4/5

A very nice action packed issue involving one of my favorite teams around (even though most of them are leaving the team pretty soon and replaced with some very cool members) and shows us a very classic superhero battle. Needed a little bit more plot but I'm fine with it since it's the 3rd issue out of 12 and I do recommend it to anyone.
