Thor's Last Stand!
This is the kind of Fear Itself issue i've been waiting for. Where there's a bunch of explosions and battle going on all through out and with the stakes being raised higher. A bunch of stuff has happened in this event but this is probably my favorite issue of it all. I'll admit I love seeing big brawls and colorful action and that's probably why I enjoyed this issue so much. But seriously, you should pick up this issue. It's good.
The Plot: The issue begins from the cliffhanger last issue with Thor battling worthy Hulk and worthy Thing. Their battle causes great destruction, but allows several civilians to escape. Meanwhile, in the heart of New York, Steve Rogers goes up against Sin along with some winded Avengers. In Fallen Asgard, Tony is making a deal with Odin. He asks Odin if he could use Asgard's workshop to build objects similar to the hammers of the worthy. Back at the battle, it isn't going to well for Thor, but he manages to get worthy thing to hesitate for a small while he summons his hammer through worthy thing, possibly killing him. Thor then moves onto worthy Hulk saying "you all were a giant pain in the a**." Thor then proceeds to throw himself and worthy Hulk right into the ground. Back at where worthy Thing is, Franklin and Valerie Richards tend to the fallen villain/hero as he dies. Steve goes up against Sin but is hit back into a car and into a daze as Sin prepares to finish him off. But before she can, a giant floating piece of land with the serpent and his fortress on it arrives shouting at the scared civilians to bow down before him. The serpent and Sin then stand in front of a times square in flames and ruin. But before he can claim reign to the battle ground, the avengers attack! The Serpent thinks of them as children and throws his hammer to the ground causing an explosion that sends the Avengers flying. Steve throws his shield though, but the Serpent catches it and BREAKS IT! The Serpent then brings his hammer down again and all the Avengers go unconscious. Steve, a while later, is woken by Spiderman who asks him if he could stand down. Meanwhile, Val and Franklin change Thing back to his regular healthy self. Thor then throws worthy Hulk into space with all his power and then collapses. Hawkeye asks Steve why he let Spiderman stand down. Steve tells him to look around and that they are going to lose. To Be Continued...
