    Interesting start

Let's start by the cover. We see Aspen Matthews under the sea partially covered by bubbles covering her body, that's very suggestive and the right use of the colors make this cover an art work. Good start.

The story begins in July 1984 when a ship that disappeared 10 years ago, appears in San Diego, the crew and the passengers seem they haven't got old all this time and they're surpised by see ing the changes in the city. Aboard the ship there's a seven years old child who has lost her memory, that child is Aspen. The bign of the story is narrated by Aspen, Killian and a mysterious character from their point of views, this can make the begin a little bit unpleasant but necessary to understand what's coming up.

We go back in time three months before this fact to see how an F-14 Tomcat of the USS Washington has the mission to intercept a strange object under the water, this object can't be detected by the devices of the vessel.

We have a jump to the present day to see Aspen swimming and meeting her friend Tyler Kincaid, a journalist for a TV channel. We have an interlude narrated by Aspen, Killian and the mysterious blue being when Aspen had her first scuba diving lesson, and she forgot to open the oxygen regulator.

Back to present time we see Aspen met by Akiko Nigata and by Aspen's ex-boyfriend Jack Gregory, a bitter surprise for her. Once inside the DMD facilities they're met by Doctor Alexander Jarvis who shows them what it seems to be a vessel from another world. There they meet a man call Cannon Hawke, some kind of link between USA and Japan.

The story is insteresting but I don't understand why the story has to begin to be told by three different characters and why the interlude, this can be unpleasant but fortunately they explain when is past and when is present. Something I miss in some comics written by good writers. The art is acceptable, made with a lot of imagination but it could be more realistic. The colors are very well chosen used with a lot of gentleness.

In my opinion this is a must have comic it hasn't all that action we're used to see in other comics but the story is interesting and that makes it attractive.
