A Dad Wrote This?
I am going to spoil the whole thing because that will show you how inept the concept of this book is.
It boils down to a divorce and the dad misses his girl. He would do anything to see a smile on his girl's face. So he breaks an incredible amount of laws - and people - to get a doll. Then he goes to jail for a very long time.
Jail was worth seeing one smile on his daughter's face? How about not going to jail and finding other instances to see a smile on her face? I cannot believe that the author feels that this makes sense. I understand the thought that a father would do anything to see his kids happy, but this idea can't devolve into absurdity. It makes a father's love look nonsensical.
I can't recommend this book to anyone. It doesn't reflect a sane father's mindset at all. It does not adequately get its message across. The art is okay, but nowhere close to saving this mess. Avoid. At all costs.
