Gabriel sends Jared to Yucatan, Mexico to find artifacts at the Temple of the Mists. His journey is complicated when he meets Charnelle, and has a daunting premonition about the plane.
Jared reflects on his past; his archelogical work is being plagued by others willing to lie, cheat and steal (for starters) for his hard work. In the present day, his powers tell him his plane is going to explode. He's arrested by one of his past tormentors and taken off. The plane explodes and now Jared is on the lam, framed for the murders of the other passengers.
