Origin
Pre-Crisis
Faora Hu-Ul was notoriously known for her hatred for men where she would torture and murder men at a Concentration Camp she had at her home on the planet Krypton. Faora was judged and sentence to 300 Kryptonian Years in The Phantom Zone for her murderous ways among the Kryptonian people. While imprisoned, Faora would find herself plotting ways of getting her hands on other male Kryptonians including The Man of Steel himself Superman. After escaping The Phantom Zone, Faora would go after Superman and in they're first encounter in battle she force him to flee.
Post Crisis
After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Faora appearing in a pocket universe created by the Cosmic Entity known as the Time Trapper. Within the pocket universe Faora was known as Zaora and she was accompanied by fellow Kryptonians General Zod and Quex-Ul. These three would trick the Lex Luthor of that pocket universe into releasing them out of the Phantom Zone. After there release, they would cause havoc among the humans upon the Earth inside the pocket universe trying to conquer the Earth itself. After they saw how resistant the humans were to their conquest the three Kryptonians destroyed the Earth's atmosphere killing nearly all life on Earth. Superman had to intervene by stripping the three Kryptonians of there powers by using gold kryptonite. After they were left powerless, Superman would completely destroy them by using green kryptonite in punishment of what they had done on the Earth.
Creation
Faora was created for use in DC Comics by Curt Swan, and her first appearance came in Action Comics #472, which was released in June, 1977.
Powers and Abilities
Faora is Kryptonian and as such has similar abilities, including but not limited to; flight, super strength, spuerp durability, super hearing, super speed, and various visions like heat and x-ray. For a full list of powers see the Kryptonian page. Faora has also been stated to be an expert martial artist skilled in the Kryptonian fighting style known as Horo-Kanu. In addition, she had a power which set her apart from other Kryptonians in that she could project mental lightning

Superman
Faora appears in the 1988 Ruby-Spears cartoon in episode "The Hunter" along side other Phantom Zone criminals, voiced by Ginny McSwain.
Legion of Super-Heroes
Faora makes a cameo appearance along side other Phantom Zone criminals in the episode "Phantoms".
Smallville
Faora was portrayed by Canadian Actress Sharon Taylor making her debut in the season 8 episode "Bloodlines" as a fellow prison escape with General Zod from the Phantom Zone.
Film
Superman / Superman II
Faora served as the basis for the character Ursa in the original Richard Donner films Superman and Superman II and apart from the name change, bore many similarities. Ursa, however, went on to become a separate character when inserted into the DC Comics canon.
Antje Traue in Man of SteelMan of Steel
Faora is portrayed by the German Actress Antje Traue in the 2013 Zack Snyder-directed Superman franchise reboot for Warner Bros. Man Of Steel.
