Best Fantomex issues?

#1 Posted by tootyghost (139 posts) - - Show Bio

I really wanna get into Fantomex some more, he seems so interesting. I haven't read any comics that he is in, but I can already tell that he might be one of my favorite characters.

What issues would you recommend me reading to really get into Fantomex?

@tootyghost: Uncanny X-Force though I can't say I would know much since I've only read four issues of the series before dropping it. He is prominent in the series, and the book is considered one of the best X books right now.

Uncanny X-Force.

Fantomex has been awesome in Uncanny X-Force.

If you want to know about the character's origin (kind of) and first appearances, you want the Assault on Weapon X and Planet X arcs of Morrison's New X-Men run, although you can't go wrong reading the whole run, it's amazing.

All of Uncanny X-Force, but specifically the Deathlok Nation arc, issues # 5-7

@tootyghost: I would also recommend the Nation X story arc...he single handedly takes down a predator X, and has some cool moments is the Second Coming arc as well

Assault on Weapon Plus?

...Maybe that as well, but I was thinking of his introduction. It was New X-Men at the time, if we're to be technical.

New World, I believe.

It was "New Worlds", you're correct.

I liked the Assault on Weapon X issues he showed up in...his first appearance...other than that I think Marvel has a habit of over using characters. Fantomex, like some other characters should just show up time and time again rather than being a centric team member, makes it more interesting. Less is more, ya know

@John Valentine: Yeah, I have a translated copy, but I guessed its something like that.
