Most of u Comicviners/Comicvinians will have heard about the upcoming Fantastic four story 3. It has now been confirmed that Marvels first family will be hit with tragedy as it will lose one of its long time members. R we sad about this or is it about time ? I myself am sad about this because i'v always liked the fantastic four. Mostly in the way that they're a family and that they all most all ways have been, It makes me sad thinking about which of them will die (even if not for long) and even what the results of this will have on the rest of the four. Here is a segment of Marvel.com's article on this FF event
**   After months of world-building with the  Fantastic Four  and their extended family, the story-arc beginning with issue #583 on September 22 promises to be the last for one of the four.

Yesterday, Marvel confirmed this via a press conference about the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR story-arc "3" with series writer Jonathan Hickman and Vice-President Executive Editor Tom Brevoort.  "'3' is definitely where it all hits the fan," said Brevoort. "It's the worst week in the lives of the Fantastic Four, where all these houses of cards that have been stacked up begin to fall on the individual characters. At the end of the day where there was four, there will now only be three."

Who will live, and who will die?**

Now like most of u I have my prediction on who might die in this story so heres mine :
    JOHNNY STORM !!!!!!
Yes I think that the youngest member of the four will unfortunately die during 3, Why u may ask ? I have no reason for why he will die but I do have some reasons for why the others may not :
    • Mr. Fantastic will live because as far as I know he has died (or seemed to have died) once or twice before
    • Sue Storm wont die because she is the mother, Not only of her Franklin and   Valeria Richards. But she is also the mother of the group. I think it would be a very hard job to replace her role in the group as well since she is the one who can get things done when really needed and she may also b the strongest in the group. On top of this Her death was the subject of 1 of Mark Millars recent FF storys .
    • The Thing will live because of 1 reason his part in  NEW AVENGERS. To explain this all I have to say is "WHAT BENDIS WANTS BENDIS GETS" u think im wrong well I'll have u know that   J. Michael Straczynski had to cut his run on Thor short because Bendis wanted Asgard to be the battle ground for Siege. The only way this wont work is if the character will be alive again after the arc is over (which is a little likely)
So Now that I'v told u what i think, What do u think u Fellow  Comicviners/Comicvinians : Who do u think will die, Why? why not? Am I right or wrong on my opinions (do u like my name for the people of ComicVine) All this to discussed
To learn more about Fantastic four 3 why not read G-Mans Off My Mind about it  http://www.comicvine.com/news/off-my-mind-death-in-the-fantastic-four/141782/
    UPDATE !!!! 25/01/2011
It has been reveled that it is in fact the Human Torch who will die during this story arc. Johnny Storm you shall be missed :(

I posted this awhile ago in another thread:

I say Human Torch dies. As I said in other threads:

    • Invisible Woman - She is to vital for the team. It's been stated that without her, the Fantastic Four(or Three) wouldn't hold together. Also they just had the "Death of Invisible Woman" story arc, so I don't see them trying to make us believe she died again so soon.
    • Thing - Thing has already died once, so I don't see him being the one who dies because we already see the reaction of the other members. Plus he just joined the New Avengers, so I don't see the killing him off.
    • Mr. Fantastic - He is the brains of the team. If the team goes on an adventure, it's usually due to some experiment or invention Reed just came up with. I don't see the Fantastic Four going on as many adventures without him. Plus Reed is probably the least popular Fantastic Four member. Killing him off would have almost zero shock value for fans.
    • Human Torch - Human Torch seems the most possible for me. He has a big enough fan base that if he died, fans are going to be interested and care about whats going on. As far his character go, he is usually the source of comedy and not drama. He also usually isn't the source of a problem or adventure the team leaves on.

I don't think they're going to kill anyone, but instead have plot force a member away from the team. And that member is most likely Human Torch.

They will probably kill Sue so it will make Reed "More Interesting". Like they did for Hank Pym, Scott Summers, and Peter Parker. That seems to be the trend.

I think it should be Johnny. As far as i know, spidey will be a member of the FF when one of them will die and Johnny can perfectly be replaced by spidey IMO.

I'm thinking that it's going to be Mr. Fantastic who either leaves or dies....the promo image they showed at comic con of Spider-man in an FF uniform makes me think that there's a possibility of him replacing the lost member and Pete's science skills would be a good replacement for Reed

Spider Man was a member of the Fantastic Four for a while!

I think Reed or Johnny will die, The Thing will become Ben Grimm again, and Susan will take care of her children with Reed or Johnny as a normal family

I hope Reed will die, but they had killed Johnny in many earths, I won't be surprised if Johnny dies.

    Mr. Fantastic will die.

Lately the FF comic has been focusing on Reed a lot. Anytime an arc ends with a hero's death, they usually show everything that character is made of first. In civil war, they showed us Captain America's fighting skill and patriotism lke never before. In R.I.P., they showed us BATMAN's preparation, intelligence, detective skill, and fighting skill (even briefly touching on his training). In FF they have focused on Reed's intelligence, education, and his relationships with the other members.

On top of that, look at this board. Everyone wants him dead. I am the only person I know who's favorite FF member is Mr. Fantastic. Kill a major character without disappointing any fans? Why the hell not? Heroes dying always sell books.

No, I think there are plenty of fans of Mr. Fantastic. The truth is FF is a major cash cow for Marvel (36th most popular comic book title for all publishers).

Here's what Tom Brevoort has said:

But [Executive editor] Tom Brevoort insisted that the death in [January]‘s issue would be the real thing.

“It’s a story that will have a transformative effect on these characters – virtually nothing will be the same after the events of this story,” he said.

“And that was the reason to go this route – to bring about these seismic changes to the characters and to the series.”

OK, look at the latest issues and Tom's wording. "the death" will transform "these characters".  I think it is quite reasonable to infer non of the major

characters will die, but instead will be changed by the death.

I think a big hint can be found here
